The Hyakki Yagyō Emaki, or “Night Parade of One Hundred Demons”, is a traditional Japanese picture scroll that illustrates a mysterious procession of supernatural beings—yōkai—marching through the night.

Though its origins trace back to ancient Chinese folklore, the concept evolved uniquely in Japan, flourishing into a rich visual tradition. The scrolls depict whimsical yet eerie creatures—such as tsukumogami, tools imbued with spirits after long use, and other fantastical beings—each reflecting the blend of fear, curiosity, and humor of the times.

Inspired by the unique and expressive yōkai featured in these scrolls, we have reimagined them as contemporary artwork and brought them to life through original products. By giving form to these forgotten spirits, our creations offer a bridge between Japan’s rich cultural past and modern artistic expression.
